Ronnette Erwin grew up in Olive Hill KY in the heart of rural Appalachia. She discovered her love of singing in Church at an early age. Early exposure to Gospel greats such as Dottie Rambo, Vestal Goodman, The Singing Cookes, and The McKameys came from records in the family home. After finishing High School, she attended Morehead State University pursuing a career in Nursing and an Associates Degree in Humanities/University Studies.

As an Artist, she developed vocal, guitar, and piano accompaniment for her songwriting after

being in a local band called Distant Thunder.

In 1994, Ronnette Erwin was approached by Addington Productions to demo a project of two

songs in the Neon Records Studio accompanied by the band Cash featuring famed fiddler,

Jason Carter of the Del McCoury Band. Dwight Whitley was also in and out of the studio working on his Album, dedicated to his brother Keith Whitley, "Brotherly Love" during that time period.

She gained experience in the studio process and a great appreciation for the studio musicians,

producer, and coaching that she received. The two releases were pitched to Nashville

associates.

Early influences were Elvis Presley, Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Willie and Waylon, Hank, Jr., Dolly Parton, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Patty Loveless, Keith Whitley, and Vern Gosdin. Bands that influenced her were Alabama, Guns & Roses, Fleetwood Mac, Shenandoah, The Highway Men, The Bee Gees, U2, CCR, The Eagles, Restless Heart, and Journey. Current favorites are Sturgill Simpson, Adele, Chris Stapleton, Justin Timberlake, Cold Play, Savannah Conley, and Tyler Childers.

In January 2014, Erwin released three tracks including "In Love with You Again", "Time to Play", and "Ponytail Mane" from her "Time to Play" Album that she wrote, composed, and recorded.  Although Songwriting, pitching to Artists, and copyright/royalty procedures were initially the focus of her abilities, her public performances gained enthusiasm and esteemed her as a vocalist in her own right.

I'd like to share with you songs from a playlist performed by my beautiful cousin, Sarah Ruth Caudill.  She was tragically killed by a drunk driver May 1, 2016.  She was a Chamber Singer and Graduate of Morehead State University.  She began her career working at Hope Hill with the youth.  She was driving home from a Gala at the University in a vehicle she purchased from our car lot.  I'd like to remind you not to drink and drive.  She was a beautiful person and her life ended way too soon.
